    Sodium phosphite is a reducing agent, not an acid salt, but a normal salt. It is alkaline in aqueous solution, not acidic. It ionizes in water to release sodium ions and phosphite ions. Sodium phosphite has good water solubility and high solubility. Its main uses are in surface treatment, flame retardants, and water treatment industries. In air, it can be oxidized to normal salts such as sodium phosphate. Na₂HPO₃ has high purity and some hygroscopic properties; it should be used as soon as possible after opening.

    II. Storage and Transportation

    1. Avoid storing with acidic chemicals.

    2. Avoid storing with oxidizing products.

    4. Store in a cool, well-ventilated, and dry warehouse.

     

    III. Packaging:

    25KG/bag; for export, 500KG or 1000KG/bag is acceptable.

     

    IV. Export Precautions

    General cargo, non-hazardous chemicals, transported as general chemicals. No tax refund; palletized, one small container can hold 26 tons.

     

    Sodium phosphite has three main uses. In the field of biological intermediates, it can be used as a transfer agent, a function that is currently rarely studied in China. Sodium phosphite contains five molecules of water of crystallization, and phosphorus has a +3 oxidation state. It can react with calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide, aluminum sulfate, etc., to produce calcium phosphite, aluminum phosphite, and other chemicals.
